After almost three years out of the saddle, Eglish rider Michael Owens made a return to racing at the latest round of the hugely popular Mondello Masters series.
For his return, Michael rode a 400 FZR Yamaha in the Moto 400 class. Saturday's qualifying was held in diabolical conditions, with persistent rain falling throughout the day,
Nevertheless, the Dungannon rider showed he hadn’t lost his touch by holding pole position until the final lap when he was demoted to second spot.
In race one, Owens would take third place behind BSB runner Brian O’Malley and Andrew Murphy, who up to this race was unbeaten in this class this year.
