Dungannon were fortunate to get away with a draw at Spafield Park, when for long periods their opponents were superior in many areas of the game.

From the start it seemed clear that Cashel had identified James McMahon as a threat and when he was spear tackled by Timothy Townsend after two minutes, Cashel spent the rest of the game a man down as he was immediately red carded by referee Enderby.

This was despite the visitors having a clear overlap on their opponent's 22. The penalty kick to the corner gave Dungannon good field position.

The line-out was lost, the first of three losses in the early quarter and along with a Dungannon scrum which was under pressure, meant that Cashel had the upper hand.

Midway through the half when Dungannon failed to find touch, Cashel moved the ball across the pitch and Rob Carney had little trouble in evading several would-be tacklers to open the scoring.

After a period of aerial tennis and against the run of play Dungannon secured a penalty from the scrum and Toby Gribben brought play deep into the home 22 with a massive kick.
