Wanderers ......24
Dungannon ... 19

This top of the table clash between league leaders Wanderers and second placed Dungannon provided an exciting final 10 minutes for both visiting players and spectators at a gloomy Merrion Road on Saturday.

While Dungannon might be considered fortunate to come away with a losing bonus point against their hosts, given their scrappy performance in the earlier stages of this match, they nevertheless worked hard throughout and particularly in the later stages their play did deserve some reward.

The visitors, minus a number of key players, took a while to adjust to the new grass hybrid pitch recently installed by Wanderers and made some early errors, often unforced.

This allowed Wanderers to set up good field position and assert themselves with winger Jamie Murphy getting in for their opening points and number 10, Cathal McGearailt adding the conversion.
