Dungannon Seconds maintained their good form to remain top of the league in this entertaining 41-21 win over Omagh at Stevenson Park.
The hosts were slow starters though with Omagh looking dangerous in the opening quarter. A knock on spoiled a possible try for them in the 10th minute.
However, the hosts sprung to life in the most dramatic fashion midway through the half.
Ryan Abernethy went on a scorching run up the left flank dodging several tackles before he was felled by a last gasp dangerous version.
The referee had no option but to award a penalty try and the hosts went seven points clear.
The drama sparked a ‘purple patch’ and two minutes later came ‘try of the match’ when Andrew Lee weaved his way through a rather bemused defence.
Aaron Perry popped over the conversion to double the Dungannon tally.
