A single-storey extension is to be built at Craigavon Area Hospital, to provide a mammography scan room, ultrasound room, office and associated site works.
The new facility will serve the Cancer Centre within the hospital complex.
ABC planning officers noted the following when they granted planning approval: “The proposal relates to an extension to an existing building, adding 83 sq. m. of additional floor space.
“It is considered that the design, materials, scale and mass of the proposal, which is a relatively small building of simple form, and located sensitively to accommodate its function and accessibility, will not detrimentally [impact on] the existing visual resource.
“The Environmental Health Department has been consulted and they have no objections and/or matters of concern.”
