SUPERMARKET giant Lidl could be on the move in Dungannon – with the potential switch to a new site spelling exciting news for the landscape of the town.
Speculation is mounting that the retailer has plans to up sticks from its current base in Scotch Street and move to a new store to be built on the derelict Ann Street site.
The vacant land in the centre of Dungannon has lain empty for over 30 years, so any new development on the site would be a tremendous boost for the area.
Lidl has been operating in Dungannon for almost two decades – and the German retail chain could be about to invest further in the town.
However, when asked by the Courier about the swirling speculation regarding a possible move to Ann Street, the retailer was remaining tight-lipped.
