Dungannon councillors renew call for on-street parking to be extended to two-hours

DUP councillor, Clement Cuthbertson, has renewed his call for on-street parking in Dungannon to be extended to a maximum of two hours, as opposed to one hour currently.

The Dungannon DEA representative raised this issue at the start of the most recent Environment meeting of Mid-Ulster District Council.

Committee Chairwoman, Councillor Christine McFlynn said: “Councillors don’t have any remit for on-street car-parking, only off-street parking, but I will allow it.”

Councillor Cuthbertson said: “I totally understand, it’s not in our remit, but a request has come from the traders through the Council in relation to on-street car parking in Dungannon, to change it from one hour to two-hour parking.
