One of Cookstown’s best-known and longest-established family-run hotels has been placed on the market, marking a significant moment for a business that has served the community for more than five decades.

The Royal Hotel on Coagh Street, owned by three generations of the Thom family, is now for sale with an asking price of £1.2 million.

Established in 1973 by the late Milton and Meta Thom, the hotel has been operated in recent years by their son Stephen Thom and his daughter Tanya. The Royal has long been recognised for its family-led approach, community connection and consistent presence in the town.
