A thirty-six-year-old man has appeared in court in relation to a high-speed police pursuit in which his partner was allegedly involved in impeding police while she drove a different vehicle with their baby onboard.
Gerard Thaddeus McLernon from Bramley Meadows, Dungannon is charged with driving dangerously while disqualified and without insurance, failing to stop for police, driving while unfit, failing to stop and remain at the scene of an accident in which damage was caused and failing to report this to police, failing to provide a specimen of breath and damaging a GAA pitch.
Offending is alleged to have occurred over various roads in Coalisland and Dungannon on 2 October.
A police officer aware of the facts of the case told Dungannon Magistrates Court the charges could be connected.
He explained police carrying out a routine patrol pulled a car in to carry out an insurance check but while it temporarily slowed it sped off.
