Dungannon traders seek legal advice on plan to demolish iconic town centre building

Traders in Dungannon town centre have voiced frustration following Mid-Ulster District Council’s decision to approve the demolition of the vacant Fort bar and nightclub.

And they are now seeking legal advice on the decision.

The once iconic building, located at 5-19 Scotch Street, is set to be cleared to make way for a new development comprising three retail units and 16 apartments.

Dungannon trader Stephen Mohan, said it set a “worrying precedent” and called it an “expensive gamble”.
