FIFTY new jobs are on their way to Cookstown along with a new superstore.

Homebase, Cookstown, as revealed recently in the Mid-Ulster Courier, has been taken over by The Range and with the new change comes new jobs.

No date has been set yet for the takeover but the 20 Homebase staff in the Cookstown Retail Park superstore will be retained and not only that, 50 new jobs are also being created.

In December last, the Mid-Ulster Courier reported that the Homebase store at the town's Orritor Road retail park was to close, leaving workers facing a bleak Christmas and even bleaker New Year.

The news came after the DIY retailer was bought by The Range after going into administration.

Full story in this week's Mid-Ulster Courier.
