ON Wednesday, September 16, Dungannon Golf Club hosted its weekly Wednesday Open and John Devlin returned a fantastic 48 points to claim first place.
Aidan Kelly scored 44 points and lifted second prize, whilst Jason Kelly and Ciaran McKay finished in third and fourth place respectively.
Conor McCaughey went round in an impressive 73 strokes and claimed the prize for best gross score.

The previous weekend the men played for the Dr Campbell Cup. The weather was good and this was reflected in the low scores.
Tim Cardwell won first prize with 65 strokes. It was a close-run competition as Patrick Devlin also had 65, however Tim beat him on a better back nine.
Hot on their heels was Gareth Gibson with 66. Michael Magennis won the prize for best gross with 73.

It’s hard to believe that the ladies’ Winter League is approaching. This 9-hole team competition commences on Sunday, October 4. It is open to all ladies with handicaps. Ladies interested in playing should sign the sheet in the locker room and put their entry fee (£5) in an envelope and post it in the competition box by Wednesday, September 30. Teams will be drawn on Thursday, October 1.
There were two ladies' competitions on Tuesday, September 15. The Sadie Maxwell Cup was played for over 13 holes by ladies with handicaps of 36 and above, whilst the remaining ladies played a separate 13 hole stableford competition.
Congratulations to Vicki McCausland who won the Sadie Maxwell Cup with 23 points, and to Jayne Henry who won the 13-hole stableford competition with 26 points, beating Karen Hetherington with a better last three holes.
