MEMBERS of the PTFA from Augher Central recently presented the school with a cheque for £2250 following fundraising activities in the school.
The money was used to purchase C2K laptops and also fund the Reading Partnership programme throughout the school, which had been cut due to budget cutbacks by Education Authority.
School Principal Andrea Sawyers commented; “We are thrilled with the money raised by our hardworking PTFA committee, in the midst of a financial crisis within education every penny is vital to ensure we continue to provide top quality educational opportunities for every child in our school.
"The money will help provide Intervention Support through the Reading partnership programme throughout the full school year and many pupils will benefit from receiving this superb programme which is used to support readers and extend pupils who need stretched and challenged. Off course ICT is always developing and changing so laptops are so useful for equipping students with the skills they need today and the future.
