THE family of a young woman who cherished every minute of her time at a special school in Dungannon have raised a remarkable amount of money for the facility.

The family of the late Alana Kane (2001-2017), a much-loved pupil in Sperrinview Special School,  decided to raise funds  for the school in memory of Alana.

Sean (dad), Majella (mum), John-Joe (brother), Máire (sister) and Eunan (brother) organised and participated in a sponsored cycle with the Cassidy family from Mizen Head to Malin Head in late August 2018.  Together with other family members and friends. £50,240 was raised in total.

The donations have allowed the school to refurbish the Sensory Garden and create a Memorial Tree outside.

Report and photos in this week’s Tyrone Courier.
