A MAN who died in a Cookstown house fire last year had dismantled his smoke alarm, an inquest has heard.

Nicky Brownlee, 28, was pulled from his flat in Princess Avenue in Cookstown on 5th October, following a house fire.

Despite efforts by firefighters to resuscitate him, he died at the scene.
