Bypass row rumbles on as Councillor claims he is bypassed by Chairman for second time

A MID-ULSTER Councillor claims he has been bypassed once again at a Council meeting while attempting to pass comment on the need for a local bypass.

At the monthly meeting of the Council on Thursday night last, Ulster Unionist Councillor George Shiels attempted to speak on the need for a bypass in Dungannon following comments from the Sinn Fein Council Chairman, Cllr Sean McPeake, but was told by the Chairman that there would be no debate on the matter.

It is the second time the UUP Cllr has been silenced by the Chair.

Following last Thursday night's meeting, Cllr Shiels issued a statement in which he accused the Council of making a cross and sulky tirade and also accused him of denying him the right to reply for a second time.
